One way of making money online is by making small websites designed only with adsense or any other contextual advertisement in mind. These sites often referred to as micro-sites - are intended to target unusual search phrases, often in highly lucrative niches. This way, they can gain fairly high rankings without to much work. The terms targeted might not bring that many visitors, but the traffic received will be highly targeted, thus converting well.
Working with contextual ads as with any form of paid per click program the main objective is to make visitors click the ads, not necessarily buy anything. Thats for the buying the clicks to worry about.
